Refunds and Cancellation Policy

At Wine Academy we endeavour to be as user-friendly as possible. However, there are certain costs associated with running our courses and, to be fair to all candidates, we adhere to the following Refunds and Cancellation policy.

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines – CLASSROOM ONLY

Candidates’ places on courses are only secured on full payment of the course fee. This payment must be made prior to course commencement.

Full* refunds can only be offered where a cancellation is made more than 2 weeks (14 days) before the course commencement.

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines – CLASSROOM ONLY

In general, candidates’ places on courses are only secured by payment in full.  Any candidates who wish to split their course payments should contact us to discuss this and the full course fee needs to be paid prior to course commencement.

Withdrawal from the course less than 2 weeks before course commencement results in forfeit of all course fees paid.

Changes to course enrolment can only be guaranteed more than 2 weeks before course commencement. Closer than 2 weeks to the course start date, changes may not be able to be guaranteed.

Please note that, in addition to the above, if a student has already received his/her study pack and cancels out of a course, if the study pack cannot be returned in unopened condition then we will deduct $100 from any refund due.

Naturally, in the case that Wine Academy cancels a course, all monies are refunded in full.

* Please note that in cases where payment has been made by credit card an administration fee is added in the case of refunds where a student withdraws from a course (currently $30 for Level 1 and $50 for Level 2). If Wine Academy cancels a course all monies are refunded in full, irrespective of payment method.

SICKNESS

For in person courses, if you are sick we are able to transfer you to the next course. You will need to supply a medical certificate. Similarly, for exams (whether remotely invigilated or in person), in case of illness the WSET does require a medical certificate. Please note that as of 1 January 2023, the COVID-19 exemption is being removed and a medical certificate will be required.

ONLINE COURSES

For both WSET Level 1 and Level 2 Award in Wines online it is NOT possible to change course after the enrolment cut off date (generally the Sunday week before the course starts). Once you are enrolled in the course and have received your login details you have access to the course materials for a full year. Please note that you do need to complete the introductory activity prior to the course end date (Level 1 is 4 weeks, Level 2 is 5 weeks) but that is the only activity which needs to be completed. After the course end date, all quizzes and material is accessible – the only difference is that there is no longer a course tutor assigned to the course. We have a Facebook group for online students (details are sent to you on enrolment) and we are happy to answer any questions that you might have.
