New WSET Course Dates and Some Tastings

You may have noticed that we’ve released our second lot of course dates for 2010.

The WSET Foundation course will be run on Saturday 17 April. The course runs from 9am and the day wraps up around 5pm. The course fee of $200 includes lunch – as well as the study guide, study notes, the exam and the wines tasted.

Registrations for this course close on Monday 5 April, but, as the class size is limited to 12, we recommend registering sooner rather than later.

The WSET Intermediate course will start on Saturday 1 May. We start with a full day on the Saturday and complete the course with 5 sessions of 2 and a half hours on Monday evenings. The final session will be on Monday 31 May. The exam will be held at the end of this class. During the course we will taste around 50 wines from all over the world. The course fee is $650.

You can sign up for Foundation here, and Intermediate here.

We’re running the courses again at the Edinburgh Hotel and Cellars in Mitcham. It’s a great venue and, if you want to check it out (and taste some wine!) prior, they’re currently holding tastings in the Cellars on Saturday afternoons from 1pm to 5pm.

This weekend (Saturday 20 February) they are featuring two Tasmanian wineries, Moorilla Estate and Joseph Chromy.

Next weekend (Saturday 27 February) you have a chance to taste wines from Austria, as well as meet winemaker Bert Salomon.

  1. Hi,

I would like to know if you are going to open intermediate courses on december 2010 and january 2011.

    Thanks very much!

    1. Hi Brizia

We try to avoid running courses over the Christmas and New Year period as everyone is too busy socialising or working to fit in study. We will probably be looking at some time in February 2011 for an Intermediate course.

  2. hi

May I ask that are you going to open WSET courses on June and July 2010.

    Thank you !

    1. We’ll be announcing the next WSET Foundation course very soon!

  3. Are travelers with work and holiday visas allowed to take the intermediate or any courses? Thanks!

    1. There is no problem with travellers on work or holiday visas taking the courses as they are not subsidised by the government in any way.
